Here are some links I’ve found very helpful in my health journey
Health has been my most important concern in recent times. My uncontrolled diabetes didn’t respond to any prescribed medications. I took Ozempic for years with nothing to show for it but chronic indigestion and sleep deprivation from drugs like Jardiance (as I was up going to the toilet many times a night). Starting on insulin in April 2024 meant a weight gain of 15 kg in less than six months. By April 2025, I’d reached a pinnacle in weight that started to adversely affect my flexibility and mobility. Nobody tells you about that, do they?
Overcoming Type 2 diabetes, obesity and high blood pressure has been my primary focus and I achieved that goal by September 2025. I’ve done a LOT of research about fasting, diets, nutrition and natural supplements, all of which has gotten me to the point of not having to take any prescribed medications any more and to live a better and healthier life.
I have spent a lot of time researching low carb and keto diets, trying to figure out which one worked best for me. My narcissistic father put me on my first diet when I was 13 years old, and it’s been a yoyo lifestyle ever since, exacerbated by hormonal issues, difficult relationships, stress, severe depression and emotional eating.
Now, I’m half way towards my weight goal so the journey continues. Being very independent, self-employed and a natural healer spurs my ambitions to be healthy, mindful and inspire others to do the same. I hope you will find some of these links useful in your own journey.

Low carb diets
These ladies have a vast amount of easy to follow recipes, some with as few as 2 ingredients. For someone like me, who really misses bread, there are some great recipes to follow. Beware of using grains like millet, rye and spelt flour. Almond flour and milk isn’t gut friendly either. My pantry now routinely stocks red lentils, chickpea (besan) flour, and coconut flour coconut sugar, coconut oil and coconut milk/cream. Do be careful of lentils however, as they aren’t keto-friendly due to the carb content.
